Chocolat

I recently watched Chocolat, which is one of my FAVORITE films of all time. There is practically nothing that is wrong with it. The town that it takes place in is so charming, yet you get to know the people inside of it and you realize that some of them are just terrible people. You are always on the edge because the main character, Vianne, is being practically hunted down by all of the townspeople except for just a few select people who agree with her beliefs. After watching the movie, you feel so connected to each of the characters. I love the way they manage to do that in just a movie.

The score for that movie is remarkable. It's a mixture between french music and Mayan music, with the flutes and pipes. It's one of the best movie scores I've ever heard. And it fit so well with the mood of the movie.

Besides the music, the acting was just amazing. Juliette Binoche was so charming in this movie. You could tell she always had an ulterior motive to everything she did. It's hard to weave into a character as masterfully as she did. She was brilliant. And then of course Johnny Depp was fantastic, like he is in every movie.

This movie is too wonderful not to be watched. If you haven't watched it before, go watch it. Now. Right this second. Why are you still looking here? GO.
