Tim Burton

Forever and always my favorite director will be Tim Burton. In many's eyes, he's seen as strange, repetitive, or nothing special. To me, he's everything. His films have inspired me to be who I am. I know it sounds dramatic, but I've been a fan of his since before I can remember, literally. My first memory is when I begged my mom for Nightmare before Christmas in an Albertson's movie center 1999, when I was three years old. I threw a fit, screaming and demanding my mom buy this movie for me. I would come home everyday from preschool and watch either Jumanji or Nightmare Before Christmas. I knew his name by the time I was five, and demanded to watch more of his films. Slowly I have come to the point where there is still only one movie of his that I have not seen: Ed Wood. I have watched every other one, and I love them all, some more than others. Out of all of the Tim Burton movies, my favorite is the one that most people either do not know or do not know is his work: Big Fish. It's so different from his normal movies, but it is still distinctly his. I love the storyline, I love the cinematography, I love everything about it.

Without Tim Burton's creepy, yet beautiful, movies, I would not be who I am. I would probably be dull and boring. Tim Burton gave me a spark of creativity through his films that has lasted to this day.

New post, same thing. I'm going to be making a short film in the style of Tim Burton. I'm not going to be doing his normal style, however. None of the creepy spirals or anything. I want to focus on his spots of color that he has. He always has contrasting colors in his film, unless he makes a point to have otherwise, like in 9. Below are some examples of what I'm talking about.

Here is the big fish trailer. This is the main Tim Burton movie that this will be focussed on, because I want to really have the natural look along with the pops of color.
